Onit

Stop hunting tabs for the work that actually needs you.

Published by Agate Arch Technologies LLC

Onit is a private desktop monitor for issues and code reviews. Connect Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and more, and see assignments and review requests in one calm app—then comment, reassign, or change status without living in browser tabs. Credentials and cached summaries stay on your device. There is no Onit account and no Onit cloud.

Built for how you actually work

One place for “needs me”

Assignments, review asks, and mentions across tools land in a single inbox—so you stop refreshing four sites to find the next blocker.

Aware without the noise

Tray status, optional floating counts, and notifications when something lands. Snooze, quiet hours, and pause when you need deep focus.

Act without context-switching

Open an item in Onit to comment, reassign, or move status wherever your tool supports it—then get back to the code.

Corp-friendly privacy

Your PC talks only to the providers you configure. Security and compliance teams care about another SaaS holding tickets; Onit does not.

For you and your team

Each person installs Onit on their own machine with their own tokens. No shared Onit tenant to provision, no new identity system—just less missed work and fewer “did you see that PR?” pings.

Assignment alerts

Know the moment an issue is assigned—without living in browser tabs.

Respond on the desktop

Comment, reassign, and change status right from Onit.

One inbox

Assignments and review asks from Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and more in a single calm app.

Tray & widget

System tray status and an optional floating count so new work is visible even when Onit is minimized.

Quiet when you need it

Snooze, quiet hours, and pause keep alerts from interrupting deep work.

Offline demo

Explore sample data without contacting your company services—then connect when you are ready.

Power feature for AI-assisted workflows

Optional local MCP for your AI tools

Already using Cursor, Claude, Antigravity, or another agent? Turn on Onit’s loopback MCP server and let it query the same encrypted local cache—inbox, counts, ticket details, reviews—instead of pasting pages into chat. Saves tokens, stays on 127.0.0.1, and never exposes provider credentials. Writes stay opt-in.

Token thrift

Ask for counts, filters, and fields you need. Skip dumping whole tickets into the model.

Cross-provider

One capability-based API across Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and more—no per-product agent scripts.

Zero-trust

Bearer token on loopback only. Credentials never leave the machine.

Store-friendly

Standard local sockets—no CLI sidecars, no shared-folder polling.

Agents can read inbox, assignments, reviews, details, transitions, and plans—and optionally comment, review, assign, mute, or sync when you allow writes.

How it works

1

Install from the Microsoft Store and try the offline demo—or connect a provider you are authorized to use.

2

Onit polls those providers from your device on a schedule you control.

3

New work notifies you; open it in-app to respond. Optionally enable MCP so your AI tools can query the same local cache.

Evaluation & subscription

Store installs are a free download with a 180-day full evaluation (about 6 months) from the Store package install date on this device. When evaluation ends, subscribe through the Microsoft Store (monthly or yearly) to continue live monitoring. Your connections, inbox, and preferences remain on the device if monitoring pauses—you can still view saved data, disconnect, delete local data, or subscribe. See the in-app EULA and Store listing for current terms.

Data & privacy

Onit is designed so Agate Arch does not collect your work items or provider credentials. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
